OK . tonight I worked on my L88 hood. I had to sand a little filler, and prep it for a prime coat. There was a little star where an air cleaner bolt once hit from underneath. It sanded smooth, but I figured it will rear it's ugly head later. So I took a dremel, ground out the cracks about 1/8", and ground down everything in between to a very rough surface. Then I took resin and poured it in the depression. I mixed in a little loose fiber hairs, and left it low. I figured on using filler to bring it up the rest of the way tomorrow, and my question is did I do the right thing, will it hold? I still have time to change it if I need to. Thanks in advance, Dave
Thanks, guys. I worked at it today, and made some progress. The air temp was 97, 197 in the sun So I used a stranded heavy filler to bring it up, and then a light filler to smooth it. I was adding light filler to the whole hood, sanded and now I added a primer/filler. I found some more problem areas, and I will work on them in the am. I hope to get an epoxy primer coat on this weekend. I will see how it goes tomorrow. Thanks again for the advice.
