Rear End Question.....Help
I have a spare rear end for my 81. I am trying to get the side shafts out. There are no spring clips on the ends of either shaft, you can see the groove where they were. I have pounded the outer end of the side shaft with a big plastic hammer but I am hitting something solid. The both shafts have about 3/8" play and I want to get the rear apart for a rebuild.
When I hit them they move the 3/8" and then hit something solid. If I just push them easy they go right back into the housing so they are not getting stuck at the end. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
