I’m a newbie to corvettes, have always loved them just never thought I would own one. We’ll I found this 1982 model in Missouri claiming to be totally original with only 26600 original miles on it. I made several trips to Missouri from Oklahoma and ended up trailering it home about a month ago. Everything seems to look and run great; I have no reason to believe it’s not original based on my lack of knowledge it’s just hard to believe a vette this nice is setting in my garage. My question to all you experts is what I can look for to validate in my mind that this is totally original. Thanks guys look forward to all the knowledge I may gain on this site.
Congratulations! and welcome to the wonderful world of CORVETTEs!
The first thing I would check are the numbers of engine, trans, rear end .. etc and verify that they match the car's VIN. If you are really want to know everything about that matter, then I recommend you to buy the NCRS black book. Also, if you suspect anything that it may not be original, just give it a shot and post the pic here and let the guys analyze it!

Living a dream.
Does it still have the Crossfire engine in it?
Nice looking '82.
I bought my '82 almost 3 years ago with about 92K miles on it. I was able to document the mileage based on the receipts that came with the car. I would think that a very low mileage car should have came with some documents since it appears to have been babied. You could also run a Carfax on it to see it's history.
The bottom line is, its your Vette now regardless if it is 100% original or not. Drive it, enjoy it! These cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed!
Honestly, It doesn't matter if it's origional of not. It's a Corvette c-3 and it's one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. Get out there and drive it and have a blast with it. Remember, there are two types of people out there- Ones who own a Corvette and ones who wish they owned a Corvette-Welcome to the club and don't forget "THE WAVE".....
From one Newbie to another, Welcome!! You will find a lot of the answers to your questions, perhaps even before you open a thread. Just pull down the "search" bar up top there, and just type in what your looking for. You will usually find a lot of threads on the more popular topics. Doing that has answered a lot of my questions lately. But of course, if you (we) don't create post's, then we'll always be newbies Congrats! Oh, and BTW, it's a good idead to take some pics before submitting a question that needs to be seen to help. ie. If you have a question about a ripple in your rear quarter panel...then it's a good idea to include a pic so proper advise can be given...or at least estimated. Just a thought. Take care!!
congrats and enjoy the 82
now don`t forget to open the corvette slush fund
for things the vette will need and things the vette will want
