Been there and done that...try a small pipe wrench {a new one is prefered as they have teeth that are nice and sharpe and grip really good] 6-8 inch one will do it
Hit the bolt with A big hammer(dont bend anything) like you were trying to pound it out the other side hit it to brake loose any baaaaad rust use PB Blaster .
Do you have A dremmell tool If so get a good cut off disc and re-shape the bolt to a (1) size smaller wrench/socket then use a good 6-Point Socket To remove. there is one more thing you can do but try this first.
And come back if you need step #2.
I agree with Chris, I just used that socket to unbolt my froozen engine's drain plug, it was rounded so badly that I thought I would just forget about it and remove it the next time I rebuild the engine, then thought about that tool :
and I was able to remove the bolt within 5 minutes!

I have used a pipe wrench and it was a piece of cake. There's not much chance of damaging anything else (except maybe your knuckles).
