Default Show me your Steelshields!!!

I'm trying to decide which Steelshields to buy for the Hooker Sidepipes that I'm fix'n to buy (sorry for the southern here -- ok . . . not). I've looked through their website gallery, but pics are limited. Anyone have pics they can share of theirs. A video would be even better.

I'm leaning towards these:

"Stingray One"

I can't help you with pics but Bangkok Dean is the name that is the owner of that store. Maybe he has more pics he can share with us. Hopefully he will see this post.

Thanks Bangkok Dean for the pics, I was hoping you'd drop in. Man those look good. I can't make up my mind which I like better. I'm hoping others will post pics so I can see more views. If you have any others, I'd like to see them.

Just wait for her to burn her leg once so you can say, "see, I told you we need those shields!!"

I'm considering these myself. My gf would never ride in the car with me again if she were to burn her leg getting out. I think the Stingray with the crossed flags look the best.

Dean, can you do them just smooth with no emblems or anything?

Dangit Bangkok Dean . . . I was just going to tell you I had settled on the Stringray Flags version before I saw the Plain and Simple. When I first envisioned what I was looking for I was thinking how cool a plain and simple cover would look but I don't think you had on your site then. Now I have to think some more.

Of course I'm just kidding with you, I think the Plain and Simple is a great addition and I appreciate all the choices.

OK, verdict in . . . I've settled on Plain & Simple. That was my original vision and I'm rolling with it. Bangkok Dean - I'll ordering as soon as I get back from vacation. Thanks for all the pics

Thanks for asking SuprJames, I never would have seen them without your question.

Dean, you really have some great products there. I may be springing for the plain and simple ones myself. My girlfriend has burned herself twice, as have quite a few other people that have ridden in my car. I'm sick of hurting people, and the plain and simples are almost not even noticable.

No prob. Take some pics when you get them on as this is the way I'm probably going to go also.

In this pic, are those headers and pipes the Sterling finish with the Plain & Simple stainless steelshiled? If so, that looks pretty good to me or if not, I could see that combo working well together... hmmmm

Does anyone know what other type of material I can use around the clamps that wrap around the pipe? The material that comes with the shield is not really enough to comfortably protect the finish on the jet hot coating from the clamp.Just trying to put a clamp on scratched up the finish.Does it have to be fire retardant? How bout some type of webbing.??....Thanks

Hi
Sorry I have been busy so I did not see your post. This is the first I hear that the heat wrap provided with the Steel Shields has been a problem with jet hot coating or on any finish. Can you please send me a PM and explain it will help in determining why you had a problem?

BTW,I have used heavy gasket material and that worked good and held up well with the heat. But do trim it close to the clamp to reduce the water from fraying it.
thanks
Bangkok Dean
