Default Hooker Headers - Is this what I need?

I'm ready to pull the trigger on my order for Hooker Headers. I wanted to make sure I was ordering the right stuff. If some one could look over my shoulder to make sure I have it correct, I'd appreciate it. I've read and read and looked at a lot of pics and videos for over three years. My wife is tired of hearing me talk about it and said "just go ahead and get them" PESTERING WORKED

I've look at all the options out there and have decided on Chrome Hookers, Plain & Simple Steelshields, and STS baffles.

Hooker Side Mount Headers - 2234HKR

Sidepipe Tubes - 65284HKR

Also, the footnote says I need a special A/C bracket 10926HKR Is this bracket required on a '76. I read it that way but did know what the real world experience was here. Thanks for your help.

I'm getting very excited. Been reading about others installing on their C3 and I on all the pics with hookers. I can't wait . . .

Default Mesmerized by hookers!

Are you set on chrome???
I've got chrome, but it's a biach to keep looking nice.
Plus future polishing.
You can buy directly from Jet Hot for much less money.

As for the part numbers-yes you are correct.

As for the ac bracket, my 79 did not need one. Original brackets bolted write up.

Sucks when you can't get your mind off of Hookers!
Doesn't it?!

If you have the factory passenger side A/C compressor then you will need the A/C bracket. If not, then you don't need it.

You will need gaskets, and theirs are very good. If you prefer to buy local, both Fel-Pro and Mr. Gasket make header gaskets that fit both round port exhaust and newer square port exhaust.

I just helped someone install a set of these last weekend. Let me know if you need any tips.

Definitely chrome. I debated and almost went with the Sterling finish, but I just like the look of chrome. It's not a DD, so polishing shouldn't be as bad. The note said '79 and newer did not require . . . you're lucky. Thanks for the tips

Yeah DB, it's passenger side, I'll go ahead and order with the pipes. I have some Persy metal gaskets I was going to try. Thanks for the info. It will take me forever to get installed due to limited time to work on, but I'll post some pics when I'm done. Maybe even shoot a video. Later . . .

the problem w/the chrome is as soon as u start your engine the header pipes are gonna turn that chrome blue and never to be shiny again and then 4 yrs down the road they are gonna start rusting DailyDriver or garage queen, i know , been there/done that. i don't have that problem w/jethot n the sterling finish, they always stay shiny in the eng compartment. i also used the percy gaskets, they're xcellent

I once main the incorrect assumption that I wanted chrome Hooker Sidepipes. I have now seen the light with ceramic coated headers.
Jet Hot is the place to go !!! Good luck

I liked the Sterling finish, but it's just not as shiney as chrome. You make a good argument about the blueing, even though others have said it is removeable. I'm getting the SS Steelshields which will cover most of the exposed pipe anyway and they are very shiney. I'll give it some more thought.

Thanks guys for all the input . . . very helpful

WOW! Summit is about $650 cheaper than all the corvette suppliers. Redman, I know what you mean about the chrome finish. I'm the same way - has to be chrome. My Cobra has the Jet-Coated side pipes and they look great, but it is definitely not the same as chrome. Are you going to get the mufflers as well?

it's not the sidepipes that turn color, it's the headers from the block to down below the engine that turns colors which is a major pita to shine up

I was following what you were saying, I just wasn't making sense with my response. What I meant was I could get the Jet-Hot Sterling sidpipes which would be mostly covered with the polished SS shields. So even if I did not like the Stering as much as chrome, most of the pipe would be covered up anyway. Bangkok Dean sent me a pic that has the Sterling sidepipes with one of his SS shields on it. It looks good!!! I'm getting a lot of comments suggesting I reconsider the chrome. I haven't had anyone tell me chrome is the way to go, at least not in this thread. I AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING THE STERLING.

BTW, your car is one of my favorites on the CF

Default Hooker Update

I pulled the trigger on some Hookers today. I went with the polished stainless steel ones. It was less than $100 more and seems like the best route. I can't wait . . .

Bankok Dean - Ordered a pair of your "Plain and Simple" shields also. I'd better be able to see myself I'll post pics when I get them on.
