HELP!!! I have bought a set of Alum heads and have found that they are rect port and the intake is oval port. Is there a rect port intake manifold made that will fit under the hood of a corvette.
I am in Australia and there is nothing available.

The '71 LS6 corvette used an aluminum intake/holley carb combo.
I think the last four digits of this manifold are 3569. Seen on the auction site all the time.
Expect to pay up to $600.00 for a nice one.

It won't be cheap and it is not the best for performance. Matter of fact it takes away some of the performance. It is a very low rise intake and was designed just so it will fit under the Vette hood.

I thought I read somewhere, maybe here years ago, that you could run an oval port intake with rect heads but not vice versa.

Well, for one thing, rectangular port intake manifolds with 3 2barrel carbs will fit under a stock BB hood (Bonnet!!). I think these manifolds were on the 435 HP 69. These manifolds are probably very expensive these days.

The L88 intake manifold had rectangular ports, but required an L88 hood since the carb did set up a little higher. L88 intake manifolds are expensive, but Edelbrock made a manifold that you could use instead of the GM L88.

Have you checked Edelbrock? They've got a large selection of intake manifolds.

If your using the stock big block hood, the only factory choice is the '71 LS6 intake manifold. The 1970 LS6 Chevelle also used this version. They run about $300 for a decent one. If you look for one that has the cylinder #'s casted into the manifold, that is a factory service replacement and should be much cheaper. The production pieces did not have the intake runners numbered.
