Default Sparkplugwire sleeves

I'm looking into better protection of my plugwires (hooker side-exhaust headers). Besides some decent wire looms (like this one) can I suffice with using sleeves (like these) to better protect them against the heat?

i did the same thing but only on 1 wire. they need to change the machining on these looms on the 2nd wire on both sides, it's too close to the header. btw the sleeve does the job.

Yes on the sleeves - those are what i use.: : Try to keep the cloth from touching the header pipes.
No on the looms - those looms are for looks only. The spacing is too tight when using a high energy ignition - though u may not have one but i do. FYI Smokey Yunic said 1/2" min spacing between plug wires with a high energy ignition - in case u upgrade someday. BTW thats 12.7mm spacing to u.

Good luck,

I have HEI ignition, currently the wires are straped together (gee, wonder why I have iginition problems... d'oh!), so the looms should be significant improvement, right? Shouldn't the metal be shielding the wires sufficiently? I'll look into some wider spaced models/options, thanks for the tip!

90 degree boots on the plug end following the OEM pattern used on early Vettes by down the back and up underneath to the plugs will give all kinds of clearance on both SB and BB engines. And it gets those unsightly wires that many have a problem with as out of sight and out of mind......
