Frame treatment
I spoke to a friend of my cousin's (Frank Zickefoose) who does powder coating at Red Line (www.redlinepowdercoating.com) and I asked him the question that I have read many times on this forum; "how do you treat the rust inside the frame?".
His answer was; he covers all of the holes in the frame and pours sulfuric acid in and rotated it around. Then he sprays in a solution of backing soda and water to completely neutralize the acid. The acid will not damage the environment or plant life when neutralize. He did however state that you need to ware a respirator and face shield when doing this.
He told me that this process is what they do along with media blasting thee outside with plastic media.
I asked what he thought about doing the same with POR-15 rather than using the acid and he agreed that it will work and he has seen it done.
I asked what the cost was on a Corvette frame an he told me six to eight hundred depending what you needed. Six hundred gets the powder coat done and the additional was for the blasting and treatment.
I like the idea of tumbling the frame with POR-15 in side like you would do to a gas tank.
OBTW, got to drive my cousins 32 roadster with a 502 hp 383 and all I can say is; WOW! I need that engine in my '80
