Default Underhood Temps w/ Chrome Headers

It seems that the underhood temps are a lot hotter with the chrome headers. Is it enough of an issue that a solution is needed? I see some cars with louvers in the hood, but I'm not really up on that idea. I have run the car with the hood not latched, but that doesn't seem to make a difference, but the hood does start to lift on it's own about 70, that's sorta neat. How can I get the heat out, and do I really need to?
Thanks,
Dusty

Lots of people run headers with no heat extraction. If the heat really bothers you you can wrap the headers in fiberglass heat wrap and that will help. By the way, at higher speeds, the side vents are venting hot air that's forced in through the nose...in effect taking hot air out with it.

kinda defeats the purpose of buying chrome headers just to wrap them up in fugly tape??
this is why i bought ceramic coated headers with the sidepipes JMHO.

I agree, as I prefer the look...it's just an option he has if the heat is becoming a problem for him.
