I am looking for a set of seat belts for my 81. I don't want to spend $250.00 for a set. I see that Mid America has a "daily driver set" for around $40.00. Has anyone every used these belts? I will also check in the "for sale" area. Thanks in advance.
The $40 jobs are just lapbelts. I wouldn't suggest going with just a lapbelt although it would at least avoid a ticket, but not other problems like a broken neck.
I wouldn't skimp on the seat belts. I bought the replacement set from Paragon for mine:
Unfortunately yes, they were $230, but they bolt right in, retract, and fit great.
Your call but just so you know, that's all you get for $40. If you want a set, I have one here in the box I didn't use for my 63 (black). Will bolt right in.

I bought my car without seatbelts. It was the single hardest part to find for my car in order to make it street legal. I finally snagged a used set from a forum member. That was before anyone sold repro 3 point setups. After seeing some of the prices for the quality of the used stuff, do yourself a favor and just buy the repro set. Unless you really want to hunt for a good set, that is the best option.
