as some of you guys know i had been having a few issiues with my car,got the a/c working good and fixed the overheat.......so i've been driving it quite a bit, driving it enough to get a little complacent. so on the 4th of july driving the all american car and doing an all american burnout, i lost it, the only injury was my pride.scared me pretty good though, came very close to taking out a mailbox and a pretty sizeable chunk of fence. i now have a very healthy respect for a 502 in a light car.just wanted to let you know getting older doesn't nessarily mean getting wiser.
well, just imagine if you were 20 again how would it have all turned out? you could have done it in a heavily populated area. I pulled one my senior year in high school, My friend (88 silverado) and I (74 vette) just completed our LAST ACT test and decided to celebrate with a race down a country RD, nothing happened, but it scared the CRAP out of me, I hit 110, and decided to cut it back
it was a hoot , felt like i was 18 again. after an underwear change and my knees being able to hold me up again,i thought........why have a 500 HP 502 if i'm just gonna cadilac around. i will just be sure i have plenty of room before i stand on the throttle again.
i really don't think i'm getting the full 500 HP out of it,needs a different exhaust, intake & misc other items to match what GM claims, my guess would be closer to 425 or 450 give or take a little. however its still a lot more than you really need. but the old saying is true "what do sex, money and horsepower have in common ?" answer...some is good ,more is better and all you can stand is just barely enough
