mine came with a removeable rear window, I will leave it out one day for a drive. As far as a cover I wont do it. A cover holds moisture. The best wat to keep moisture, bugs, dust, etc is running cheap box fans 24/7 on the car I have 2, One inthe rear on an angle and one if the fornt facing the cross angle not one spec of dust, rust, or anything sits on the car. Trust me on this

I leave mine out all the time during spring, summer and fall.

But there have been a few times when I have been at a car show and freak showers would come in.

Around here you need to be able to keep it with you just in case.

Interesting. I do wait until the engine is cooled down (don't drive it in the rain, of course), and an hour or so later put the tarp on. It is a breathable indoor only cover made to combat moisture. But the fan idea is brilliant. I believe I will try that. But again, my main reason for using the cover is for my little hellions. 427 vette...do you leave the fans on during winter storage? Just a quick ?? Don't really mean to hijack the OP....

I have used box fans for years. In Chicag suburbs, a dehumidifier is also must in the spring thru fall. I am amazed at how much water I pull, even with a well vented garage. Cheap insurance to keep rust off.

Does anybody know what effect the removal of the back window will have above 100mph. with the tops on and side windows down? Help performance, hurt or no change?

In my youth (60's) I actually had sirens after me and did not know it. The locals were very un happy at my speed but even more unhappy that I was unaware of them. So I will call that a benefit then.

Any negatives to doing that ?

I only drive mine when sunny and no rain and currently putting together after paint and was considering leaving it out for now.

I usually leave my back window out of my 69 all summer. I really like how it changes the air flow through the cabin. Just make sure you stay out of the rain.

If you do get caught in the rain just keep moving. Very little rain will get in until you stop.

I have a 72 with the back window out. It has been that way for about 18 months now. Actually the window and T-Tops have been off for that time. I keep a car cover on the car in the garage, and that is what keeps the car clean in and out.

Really must be a popular '76 mod...mine too. Would never drive with the back window in again!

You won't find it in a 1973 manual, because the bean counters did away with the removable back window before the production of '73 model started.

How much did Tom charge you for the parts?
