I've got a 69 350 and I'm considering adding side pipes. not sure which ones to go with I know the ones shown on the op's car look great but i've been told it will cost like 2 grand to add them on my car so I'm thinking of going with the original style pipes which still look good and are a lot cheaper. my mechanic told me like $250 with install. Any suggestions would help. thanks.

I hate to be a killjoy but I can't imagine any sipepipes that would be "original style" and only cost $250 with install. $2500, maybe, $250,

I think the original style are more expensive than the Hooker sidemounts.

How well do your heat shields work and where did you find them? Been debating getting sidepipes but have to have the shields if I do. They look great on your car

http://www.steelshields.com/

Bangkok Dean is the man behind the shields and is a longtime forum member and has made dozens of shields for forums mebers and others.

If you want to save your leg (or your passengers), they work and they look great.

Thanks for the compliment,You know I wasnt too sure about painting the rallies also but I decided that If I didnt like them I could always go back to the original color.
