I have to rplace the blower motor on my 81. There is a nasty noise when the key is jsut turned and when engine is running. No doubt it is the bearings. I have a new motor to put in. My question is I have never replaced this before and I was hoping someone could advise the first step involved.
thanks

You'll want to cover the passenger side fender with a blanket, as you'll be leaning over a lot with tools to get them swapped. It's really not very hard when you get your head under there to look at it. Remove the coolant overflow tank, and there are several hex head screws holding the fan to the A/C box. Remove the wiring and the air tube, remove the screws, and pry the fan away from the box. Use some strip caulk to re-install the new one, and follow the same steps backwards to install the new fan.
