For those of you who have installed the GM 502-502 crate engine, what do you think of it? Power, reliability and sound? Does anyone have a sound clip of the engine idling that they can post?

Dropped a 502 in my 72 two years ago, no problems at all.
Reliable, runs 185 degrees with Dewitt/Spal set up all day log, pulls real hard (running 3.77 with Keisler 5 speed).
As far as the sound, I don't have any clips. I run 2.5 stainless factory style sidepipes and you can hear the car coming. Really like the cam lope at idle, sounds like any classic big block Chevy.

Sorry, not a Vette, but I built this 502/502 Firebird 6 years ago. My first 502 build up and I'm happy. Due to muffler location and tail pipes on this car, a Vette will sound totally different but you can get the idea. This car has a full 3" exhaust with Flowmasters and tailpipes exiting at the stock location just behind the rear tires.
Very reliable, survives the Woodward Dream Cruise for hours on end in hot summer temps with a stock Camaro big block radiator, shroud, and water pump. The owner has driven several thousand trouble free miles to this date, and is one happy guy.
Close as I can come at the moment. Heres a crate 1970 460 hp LS7 454. Idles just at 850-900 rpm. Runs 11.2-4 ET at 122.00+ top end speed. It drives well on the street except it cant pass a gas station and the noise is a little on the loud side especially when pressing the 'loud' pedal. ..
