I am checking the numbers on my 1977 Corvette (Red) and know nothing about what is under the hood, so the search begins. First and foremost I found the VIN number area on the block milled off, so no numbers there for me to verify. I did find that the area for the number is verly long. My other 77 Corvette (Orange) block VIN number area is half the length, so that might be a clue.
I did find on the rear of the engine a number that reads "GM 3932388" on the red car. My original Orange 77 reads "GM 3970010".
Anybody have any idea what I might be looking at with these numbers?
I see what the source said, thank you. Now, how do I tell if it is a 327 or a 350, or maybe even a 383 stroker? And what the heck is a 1969 engine doing in my 1977 anyway?
