Does anyone have a pic with inter fender sheilds on. I bought a engine compartment kit from Dr. Rebuild and not sure how to properly install them. These are the sheild that are right above the upper a arms that mount to the inter fender. Does it mount on the inner fender or the wheel well?
Looks like they mount on the inside/engine side of the fender well. Or at least that is how I put them on my car when I replaced them a few years ago.
He was asking about a C3 not a C5 Eddie!
I just did this on my '72 a few months ago. They'll only go one way, but like Eddie said they do go inside the engine compartment. You'll probably have to do some trimming and you might have to extend some of the holes. I got mine from Mid America and though they turned out pretty nice, it took quite a bit of massaging.
Koni,
Purchase the assembly instruction manual (AIM) for your year. AIMs show how the cars were assembled at St. Louis/Bowling Green and include diagrams, original part numbers, notes on installation, etc. AIMs are well worth they're price.
If you're driving a '68, the fender shields were stapled in place. No push pins.
