I have a 77 vette thats been sitting for about a year due to not enough money to get it running right, The engine ran fine when i parked it, just no brakes. A year later I get a new battery, put it in, turn the key, no lights, no nothing.... Just finished putting in a new starter solenoid, what else could I check? I have to get this running ASAP, neighbor complained about me having an unregistered car and a weekly fine is the last thing I need. Thanks for your help.
Check the connections at the battery, the ground to the frame, and the power to the starter. Just get under the car and follow the big cables coming off of the battery to their terminating locations and check to make sure everything is connected properly. If you must, un-do them, clean them up, and reconnect them.
Also, if you have a digital multi meter, check the battery just to make sure it still has a charge. I once bought a new battery, installed it in the car but didn't start it till a day later. The car had such a bad draw that it drained the battery overnight and it wouldn't even click the next day.
i checked the voltage, the voltage to the starter solenoid is good so is the one going back to the frame, is there an ignition fuse? i checked them and all the clear ones are good but there is a big one in a metal casing that i cant see, could that be it?

Sometimes a fuse can LOOK good but it doesn't really work. I have replaced a fuse before that I thought looked good and it worked anyway. Do you have any electrical diagrams of your car and fuse panel?
