Just finished one thing on the car so of course something else demanded attention. I put down the passenger side window and when I tried to bring it back up it goes up fairly strong for about 2 inches then just stops as if it possibly is getting stuck. Each time I bring it all the way down it does the same. Any suggestions/thoughts?
Thanks,
Frank

my 79's pass. window just recently suffered same symptoms, but would go about half way then stop, it was the gear and the spring, the gear had some missing teeth, spring rivet was cracked and the spring was pretty rusty. plus the roller assembly tracks could probably use some cleaning, after 20+ years they get gummed up. my motor was ok, it just doesnt have enough torque to lift the window without the springs help. remove the door panel and dig in. ask lots of questions and search past threads, this has been done many times before with pics.
also if you gears needs replacing and the rollers are worn out, i would suggest a complete assembly, i rebuilt mine and it was a PITA. i will buy the complete assembly next time it breaks.
