Default Dead again

Is it mine or does every vette need to be connected to a battery charger 24/7. I’ll charge mine up and in two days is dead again. Is this normal or should I start looking for the cause. I have a 95 GMC truck that I use once a month and I never have to charge the battery, it starts right up.

No its not normal.First and easiest thing to do is disconnect one of the battery cables-charge the battery-let it sit 2 days after charging with the cable disconnected-reconnect battery cable-try to start...if the battery is dead then its the battery...if it starts the car then you can start looking at the car for battery drain or a bad charging system.

Here is a paper that Roger here wrote, just for this situation. I hosted it for him to make posting it easier.

Looks like it's my red top...when charged it only reaches 10Volts. I've been reading searches on batteries and if they only last 4/5 yrs why spend $150 on an Optima...I was thinking AC Delco Pro $99.

Is your Optima not still under warranty? If I'm reading right and it lasted 4-5 years then I say get another one. Most new batteries I buy outside of Optima tend to last only 2-3 years. Also, did you ever tend the Optima when you didn't drive it for long periods? That will extend the battery life even further.

Not uncommon on 82s, the RAM has constant 12V power, leave it sitting long enough and it will be dead.

Why not do an current draw test, remove fuses to pin point the circuit drawing current with key off.
