Trailing Arm Assy. Need help??????
Am I not seeing something, or are they just a pain to get out after 31 years of use ??????

Anyway, it can take a lot of force to get them out, your 12 ton may not even be up to the task. This is the reason I have a 40 ton press.
If the above link works its a direct link to ZIP's site and their tech manuals as an additional source for you. I had access to a shop at that time and we did use a press. I remember it was a bit scary - like is it going to go or what. I also rememeber I became verry familiar with PB blaster.
The spindle brg's are a press fit on the spindle. Age and the interference fit make them hard to remove. You should use the old nut or better yet a knocker tool to remove them. They will require a lot of force to remove and you're better off using the knocker with a 5 lb hammer to drive out the spindle. That's how I do them, I used to use a press but no longer do. Others have made slide hammer type tools that bolt to the spindle to remove. once you have them out you have to remove the outer brg off the spindle and will need the special puller or a thin enough clam shell brg splitter.
You're also going to need the set up tool and bushing installer.
Here's a tip, the surfaces of the flange, shims, spacers are not always parallel and will throw off your setup if out enough,be sure to check them. Many times the flanges have the brg stamps etched into them.
