Hi,
Soon I will receive my TKO600, and I was wondering how I'm going to match this up with the BB. An engine stand will be useless, since it mounts on the back side of the engine. The workshop floor doesn't seen to be ideal.
So what can I use? Does anybody have a schematic of a jig?
I don't have a jig, but I do have a rolling cart that I put the transmission on. I hoist the engine up to the level of the table, and roll the cart over and mate the two together. With the hoist holding the engine and the weight of the transmission on the cart I can bolt it all together to stab it in the car. I install and tighten almost everything prior to it going in.
Take the water pump off and run the engine stand mounts there. If the heads are drilled and tapped for any accessories, another potential mounting hole. Are you running iron exhaust manifolds? Bolt them on if there are accessory holes drilled in the front. Have a hoist ready before your ready to bolt everything together (might get tippy) /:\
