putting car back together after resto. wired in new plug for p door lock in door as the old one just fell apart. i get juice to the plug and when i push the switch up or down i get juice on the those wires, so i know the switch works, but there is no juice going to the door lock actuator. any ideas?

This lock system is a PITA.This system depends on both lock switches being good and the central ground in the passenger door being a good one.(I have 2 good used switches that I put in place when I work on these.)When your checking for juice are you checking the tan and gray wires at the drivers side switch?

I agree with checking BOTH switches and wiring. Both my locks weren't working when I bought it from the PO and even after fixing one switch I had to fix the other to get them both to work.

I found after replacing the switches that one wire in the connector had frayed and separated and the entire system failed to function. Double check those connector wires that route to the backside of the connector...not a bad idea to test those connections.

You probably already have this diagram but if not this could help you see how this setup depends on both switches being good.If you look close you will see the GROUND to each door lock reverses also.

I assume you already cleaned all the terminals on the back of the swithch? Mine didn't work when I bought the car and just needed to clean up all the contacts.

Are you checking the tan and gray wires for switch output. You have to use one of the wires for ground and the other for 12 volts. You cant use the metal door for grounding your test light.
