posted some of these over in the C6 forum but i thought you guys might enjoy comparing a 68 with a 05. i think it's pretty cool that after all that time the cars still share so much.
Thanks for posting - some very nice shots...I've always been able to "see" the lines that carried forward from year to year but the C6 shares much more with with the C3 than the C4/C5...but I still don't like the headlights on the C6!
I can even "see" the C2 lines in my '82 on the rear deck where the glass meets the fenders...all in all a tribute to the many Corvette design teams over the years.
Is it just me, or do the rest of you share the thought that those chrome bumper c-3s could be built today and be right in style with today's cars.
Maybe even better looking!
I haven't taken shots of them together yet, but I think a '73 is the best match for a C6. It's got the urethane nose and single side gills, but still has the Kamm tail.
When I look at them side by side in my garage, it's clear that a lot of the inspiration for the design of the C6 came from the '73!
the c3 has more curbside appeal. in short, the c3 looks better.
Wife and I went to a cruise-in this week ...
A very nice couple came over and for a long time looked over my ride and commented to me on how much they like the look and style of the C3's...and how the lines in his opinion were classic....
Then to my surprise they walked over to thier C-5 parked near by and
drove away ...
Made me feel real good about my old '75.
