Well lets see...
Bubba ran out of RED electrical tape so both battery
cables were black.
Step 1. Flat battery
Step 2. Remove to charge
Step 3. Charged and replaced
Step 4. Reconnect cables
Step 5. Wonder what's burning
Step 6. See smoke !!!!!
Step 7a. Smash head on T-Top
Step 7b. Burn fingers on battery post
Step 8. Off to auto shop to purchase new cable(RED)
Step 9. Buy burn ointment (& BEER).

Last July I was bleeding the brakes, took the the cap off so that I could add more brake fluid. Had my wife pump the brakes while I opened the bleeder. After I bleeded one calipler I went to check the brake fluid again and I discovered that I did not put the top back on and brake fluid was running down the finder. The paint on the finder was blistered. My wifes dad was the one who painted my car in 1995 ( Thats how I meet my wife ) The sad thing is that her dad died the week before this happened The good thing is her dad taught me a lot over the years, we have painted a lot of cars togrther, so I was able to fix it myself.

Wow, I'm feeling extremely normal right now. I have a million I could share but since I just recently got my Vette they're not Vette stories. So I'll just take solstice in knowing I'm semi OK.

Started up my new 502. Had the timing retarded way to far. Within maybe a minute my shiny chrome Hooker sidepipes turned blue and brown and gold....

My first vette was a 77 back 20 years ago. Didn't have much spending money to buy some of the toys I wanted, one of which was a power antenna. My brother and I went to a junk yard and found a 70s model Cadalac that had one and we thought we could make it work. Long story short, we wired it up, turned the radio on and immediately we started smelling hot plastic (insulation on the wires). Out of panic from underneath the left fender, I yelled at my brother to grab the antenna wires that had just been layed in the console and jerk them loose. He did...........................and spent the next 10 minutes screaming and cussing me because the hot molten plastic on the melting antenna wires stuck to his hands and burnt the holy #^%$#^%#*&%*(()*&# our of him........ It is still freaking funny even after 20 plus years. I think we all have probably done some pretty stupid things. It's normal..................if you don't make mistakes every now and then, that means that you are not doing anything.
