don't know much about cars but I'm just going to throw this one out there, it happens when the engine is warm and sounds like it is coming from the passenger side just in front of the firewall, that is exactly where the coolant overflow is.
I don't agree with that, the coolant reservoir is actually mounted to the wheel well on the passenger side. I think that's about half way up the engine compartment and far enough away from the firewall to eliminate it as a possibility. Not to mention if there was some serious noise making activity in an overflow bottle there would be very obvious symptoms easily seen. Good idea though.
Could it be the Heat Riser sticking or getting stuck restricting exhaust flow...as you stated it is stock..maybe as it gets hot making exhaust sound like fluid transfer? Just throwing it out there.
Hi Brian,
Early on, I thought about this as a potential cause too. But I eliminated the heat riser when I recently had the right exhaust manifold off to be machined and then reinstalled. I was hoping that this could have been the problem but unfortunately it wasn't. thanks
