Fuel question on high compression C3s
Hey all:
Back when I had my '69 (sold it in '96), I was still able to occasionally find leaded fuel, but it was pretty much gone around here by then. I used to go to Sunoco, where they would have 100 octane "racing fuel", put a couple of gallons of that stuff in there, then fill up with the 94 octane "ultra". That would make that car purr like a kitten at idle and growl like a lion when stomped on. My question is, I haven't seen leaded fuel or the racing fuel in well over a decade, so what I was using before is not an option. What are you guys and ladies using for fuel? Where do you get it (if it is anywhere other than the local gas station)? How much do you spend on it?
