Default Photoshop Request

I have this strange paint idea that I'm considering, I did a rough job with paint to show where the colors go. (Don't laugh)

It's basically this theme, two tone (black sides), with the front bumper dipped in black also. Thanks to whoever can do it, I'll owe ya one.

And use the prettiest sapphire blue you can find, like the blue on this GSXR.

I'll run this through the shop tomorrow and get it as quick as we can. Good idea though.

Although, I have the 75-79 hood, not the 80-82 hood pictured. But my car will have the 82 front and rear bumpers, which is why I chose that pic. But the stripe on the hood needs to follow the baseline of the scoop (rectangular shaped). So I don't know what you can do about that.

This is what my hood looks like:

Strange to see your own Vette (Y/B) in some one elses post. Bring a smile to my face.

I would not paint the side completely black, run it halve way up, and follow it with a pinstripe. Like this http://www.corvetteforum.net/c3/themoneypit/
Your scheme will f. up the contours.

I agree with cajos, but I think the transitions where the two tone rolls over the wheel wells could be smoother than the example he posted. If the line didn't make a 90° turn everywhere there was a transition it would fit the lines of the car much better. It looks like someone just drew a straight line down the side of the car and then dropped the fenderstripe on as an afterthought. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful car and I love the color choices, but the design isn't as complimentary of the body lines as it could be. I'm curious to see the photoshop work when it's done.

I did this quick for you to get a sense of how it could basically look. Obviously it dosen't look shiny, but you get the idea. Hope this helps.

Just got back in the shop but haven't had time to do anything. Just thought I'd pass this along to all Photo Shop users & players. Really good tutorial for what we're trying to accomplish.

i've photoshopped this same scheme in almost every color like 100 times...let me get home tonight and dig through my saved copies. I think you've got it right...it looks dumb if you don't do the "top" section of the front bumper.

You mean the little recess in the middle? My bumper is going to be molded in, so it wouldn't matter.

I think mod81 means to bring th color down to the line break on the leading edge of the bumper, similar to what is done on the 78 pace car or silver anniversary paint job

Enk, I haven't forgotten you. I just had no idea what was fixin to hit my shop right after I said I'd PS your color scheme. It's on the desktop but we flat got slammed. I'm even doing work at home at night. I've not had to do that in the 12 years of my shop. I figure you're not painting tomorrow but that's when all my clients seem to want their graphics printed. Just wanted to let you know what's up.
Mod's looks slick. Mod, use that page I posted and get some shine on it and it'd be slammin.
