I was able to reach around the tire by turnining it to the left to get the 3 bolts out. My car has AC, so it's kind of tight under the hood where the tank is. I losened the AC compresor, so I could move the lines around, so I could snake it out.

You had a muscle car for 8 years and you didn't learn enough about cars to check out the vette and make sure that it wasn't a lemon before you got it?
Nothing wrong with Vettes. Buy a new one if you want an unmolested Vette that will be reliable. Or take someone with you next time who isn't a tire kicker.
