Foam Supports

Would someone tell me if this looks right. The support marked is the old one and the new one is on the right, it looks longer does it need to be trimmed or leave as is, this is a 82 vette. Thanks guys

doesn't look right to me, I would think it would go all the way across,so as to prevent the air from going over the engine. You want the air to be forced thru the radiator.
