Default Woohoo - 17.5 mpg!

I just replaced my tired old Holley carb w/ an Edelbrock Performer series, changed the plugs and swapped the old paper air filter for a K&N. MPG went from 9.5 to 17.5, including +100mph "testing" , I'm amazed and EXTREMELY pleased. Sure is nice not stopping for gas every 100 mi...next stop...Pismo Beach!!

Hey thats great! I getting about the same on my car. I am hopeful the new Edelbrock 1901 I just purchased will provide me with similar results. Going from 9 to 17 is like found money, plus now you can tell everyone you're an environmentalist.

Now that you mention it, I better check my tire pressure too! Good luck with yours, it is like finding money!

Wow! Way ! Thanks for letting us know the results of the swap. I thought I would have to install an OD trans to get that kind of mileage. I will have to look into this.

My 73 with base 350 and 4-speed gives a consistant 17.2 mpg. This was the case on a 1000 mile trip. Felt good about it.
