interior gauge lights not working again, help please
man this is staring to get me torked! my fuses are fine, but my interior gauge lights don't work. they did work a week ago. i did removed my speedo/tach cluster to replace my wiper switch but i didn't do anything else. although, i did pull out gauges again and i saw 2 crossed copper connectors where the main plug snaps in, but i corrected it and they still don't work.
Just A thought the ground wire to the harness might have come un-plugged when you were putting in the speedo parts .I worked on my ft & Bk bumpers once ,they came out great but my tailights didnt work right after the repair so I cleaned up the ground and everything worked great. it always something....Try running A seperate piece of wire from ground to the back of the light housing and if the pop on you have found the Problem.
I know you said the fuses were ok but sometimes they look good but their not.Check both sides of the inst. lamp fuse with a test light or voltmeter with the headlight switch pulled out.
The headlight switch can cause this. it might need replaced.
Thats correct but thats an easy check because the headlight switch FEEDS the "inst. light fuse".To check just turn headlights on and check the inst. fuse for voltage(rotate rheostat). As you rotate the rheostat you will see the voltage at the inst. fuse go up and down.
