Default Rusty Jack

Hello all. Just sold my C4 and bought a C3. The body plug in the well where the jack was was out and the jack and wrench got wet and rusted. Since the jacks are kind of high can anyone tell me what can get the rust off? It is very covered.

Welcome to this side of the fence.........;you're gonna like it.........

Ten guys will have ten different ways to approach this. I use a bench wire wheel to clean up the stuff I can. For some stuff I put a wire wheel in my drill and go that route. After it is as good as I can get it I paint to keep rust from coming back.........

After sand blasting many parts on my car, I can tell you that sand blasting my jack, priming and painting was the most tedious piece yet. Constantly raising it up and down trying to get everything right, took allot of patience and I hope never to do it again. Quite a few times I thought about chunking it and buying another, but my wallet kept cheering me on. By the way it was big time rusted.

I use this stuff called Evapo-Rust from Orision Marketing. I saw it at a trade show last year, the stuff is fantastic.
