Please keep in mind this is my first chevy. On my 68 mustang the starter solenoid is on the firewall by the battery so its easy to hook up my remote starter switch.
it would be a lot easier to bump the starter if i could hook up my remote and not use the key if i knew where to hook it up to.
Of course, you'll want to make sure that your neutral safety switch is working properly.

The remote switch would be bypassing the neutral safety switch wouldn't it Terry? I don't think it would come into play with direct connections on the two terminals.
You can access the purple wire via the white connector behind the passenger side valve cover. Poke a wire in the back side of the connector on the purple wire and put 12v to it there. You can get a Starter Bump switch at some auto parts places or make one with a simple push button from Radio Shack.

Not sure of your year but if its one of the older ones you wont have a plug at the back of cylinder head.If your careful you can find the purple going down to the starter and push a sharp probe into the purple to use to connect one lead of your remote starter.Other end can go to large pos. connector (red wire)on back of alternator.

Yep, that's right. What was I thinking? I should have cautioned against having the car in gear when using the remote start. I had one crash into my work bench doing that. Duh, what was I thinking?
