Hello,
I am currently making my 1975 roadster new again. My problem is the rear bumper. I have looked at many 1975 vette pictures, and it is about 50/50 to whether they rear letters "corvette" are the smaller script spelling, or the spaced out block letters? Which is correct?
Thanks, Mike Hempel

They should be block letters in fitting recesses in the bumper. Hope that helps
My Vert has the slanted "script" logo on the rear bumper. Did some research because I saw the same differences and found out the later 1975 models used the script logo....
The 74-75 used the block type letters, and the 76 had the script - per the catalogs. But, that's where the confusion comes in - vetteguy75 mine is a June 1975 Vette and it has the block letters - and I've seen a split rear bumper 1974 and the guy said it was a 1975.
So, after all these years misc modifications have been made. My late '75 does not have astro ventilation but, has the drain tubes for it. Go figure.
I have an all original 1975 roadster, and the rear bumper letters are block letters spaced about a half inch or so. There seems to be some confusion in Ecklers catalog about which years used recessed letters vs flush mount. My car has the flush mount letters.
...there should be no "confusion" on this issue because it didn't happen. I've seen a dozen or so original "last week" production '75s and even a couple of original "LAST DAY" production '75s and ALL were the individual block letter style.
...I have also in fact have seen a dozen or so '75s with the '76-'79 style one piece script rear bumpers because it was quite common for dealerships/bodyshops/etc. that have been repairing these cars for 38+ years to use that '76-'79 urethane bumper that is still available from GM(as the original style '75 urethane bumper supply was exhausted probably two decades or more ago)as a replacement for the original 1975 rear bumper.
...for me to believe any '75 came this way, I would have to view a pretty convincing pic from 1975 when the car was new.
On this reference page it shows a couple of 75 Corvette Coupes and they appeare to be spaced out blocks as have been referred to here. Sounds like block letters are correct.

I learned way more about C3 bumpers than I wanted to when I needed to replace my 75's bumpers a few months ago. 74 had the split bumper with individual letters spaced apart in recesses. 75 used the same individual letters recessed in a one piece bumper. 76 moved to the one piece script. The 75 rear bumper was a one year only and theres no urethane reproduction made at this time. I used ACI Flex-fit fiberglass ones on mine. I would have perferred to use urethane to keep it original but the fiberglass looks just as good.
Who's the best choice for that type of bumper and did you consider Tru Flex when making your choice? I need a front bumper cover for the '75 that's why I ask.

I installed an ACI Fiberglass front bumper. The fit was awful, it was a terrible job to get it to fit my 75. I wrote them a letter about it but never got an answer(normal)! I did buy a Flex Fiberglass first from Mid America but it arrived damaged so I never installed it. Didn't notice too much "flex" though, it seemed pretty close to the fiberglass one to me.

I used Toledopro ACI becasue that's what the corvette shop had in stock. I'm near Cleveland and Toledo isn't too far away, so they stock many ACI parts. When you feel any of the "flexible" fiberglass you'll realize that the amount of flex in them in almost negligible. You will have to do some body work on a new fiberglass bumper. Every vette body built was slightly different in width. One of the reasons urethane was nice to use was becasue it would strech or or compress like a rubber band to match any car. I've heard that the flexible fiberglass bumpers are a little wider and the white ridgid fiberglass is a little more narrow. The ACI one fit my car pretty well as far as size goes, but it was such a PITA to get it on the car I ended up giving up after 3 days and giving it to a body shop to finish.
bought my '75 with no letters and no indent bumper ....
Some one was nice enough on here to send me a templet spacing for the letters that i picked up a carlyle .
