ok pulled out old dryer. i have a new one coming next week. i was able to blow air through it, does that matter?i thought it was blocked.I also bought a new orifice tube, now where does that go?
I took compressed air and blew it into one end of the open system and some air did come out of the other open end, so i am assuming that its ok as far as a blockage goes.
just some generic questions as I am new to ac repair.
thanks
If you had some problems before you removed the dryer (like if you think there is a blockage or something), then the best thing to do is to totally flush the system clean. I recommend to let a professional do that, the flushing equipment needed are little pricey and you'll probably will need them once.
Flush gun. Sludge and dirt can block Evaporators and Condensers, making flushing the system necessary. The flush gun is partially filled with AC flush, and then pressurized. It has a standard tire stem, so I use a cheap tire inflator I got at Wal-Mart for $10. The flush gun is $80 from NAPA.
