Also, one more question. Does it matter which way the connector on the right-hand side of the below pic goes on? It's not dummy-proofed and there are different colored wires going into the terminals. I just don't want to rotate it 180 degrees the wrong way.
Sorry I dont have any pictures with me to put on the forum for you to look at to compare with. The capacitor on my 70 AC coupe is mounted at the (top) 12:00 screw and the ground brass tab is mounted the same as yours that way the wires will lay around the motor better.
Also My 70 AC fan has a vent hole in the motor housing for a rubber tube coming from the evaporator housing. BTW, The paint job on the fire wall looks real nice.
No your wiring is not right, the capacitor goes on the purple feed wire not the black ground wire. Also the screw that holds the spade for the ground lead needs to "bite" into the metal part of the blower housing. That will give it a good ground unlike using one of the mounting screws for the ground. Also the ground screw is special and I think you have it in the 9 o clock hole. The hole for the ground spade is at 2 o clock...its smaller than the rest of the holes.Oh and it looks like the whole motor needs to rotate counterclockwise. Sorry....You did ask.
edit-on your connector in the 3rd pic-its in the correct position as is.

He's right, Capacitor won't do you any good thier, also correct about getting a good *bite* into the bare metal, important.
Thanks, but does anyone have a pic of one that's working correctly. Looks like the rubber boot of the purple wire matches up perfectly with the male portion that is mounted on the motor.

The ends on your new capacitor dont match the original.
