Default Need used Connecting Rods.

Calling all guys...I need a set of used connecting rods.

I need them for my 405 project. They need to be 5.7" rods, I would prefer forged, and they must fit the 400 crank journal...which I think is the same as the 350 journal size.

Used and cheap are what I need...don't have the budget for new rods at this point.

Thanks guys...this is the only thing left before I can finish building my 405.

Thanks but I checked out the parts section, and I wanted to reach some of our members that don't frequent the parts section.

I'm in the process of listing a WTB thread for the Parts section, but your sarcasm is always appreciated.

IMO we could also benefit from a "rubber room section"...Matt do 5.7"s come in standard small blocks? I have 4 of those laying around that I might take apart.

From what I understand the 350 connecting rods are 5.7" from center to center. I don't know for sure but I think they differ from other small blocks with 5.7" rods because they have the large journal crank end just like the 400 rods.

I actually have two sets of 5.7" connecting rods I can use in a pinch, but they are not forged, they came out of a stock late '90's Vortec 350. I want to use forged rods if at all possible because I don't want to have to do this again.

If any of the rods in your 350s are pink, then they are forged. Brutal64 gave me this info in a different thread.

"Late sixties thru late 70s "X", "B" or "O" rods. Stay away from the Mexican "X" rod with the large flat on the side bolt boss. Some 305s and 307s used the "B" rod."

I will close this one and refer all to the one you have listed in
the parts section.
