I wont hit you but Ill still suggest sticking with stock. Get a '69-'75 tilt column.

thanks a lot.
i like the stock better than after market myself.
but there are poop butts on ebay that seam to think a column that is 30 years old is worth 1300.00 to 1500.00 dollars and that would be a stupid price to pay for used parts when a new ones are 500.00

I bought one for $500; most I see sell for between $500-$600. The ones you are pricing are mostly the "newly reconditioned" ones... you should be able to find a decent used one for reasonable money. (PS, then I sold my old one for $200).

The 1976 T&T column will also fit. The actual Saginaw column part is the same as the 1969 through 1975 T&T columns but the telescope lock, steering wheel, and horn parts are unique. You might be able to purchase the 1976 column cheaper because some people think that the column is unique because of the one year only Vega steering wheel. But the actual column is the same.

I am going to put in a 79 T&T column in my 72. Not a direct bolt in but only slight mods. It also puts the high beams on the steering column. It also is about 2 inches shorter than the 69-75 columns which should be good. I actually have 2 columns right now both 79s. Rebuilding one and just saving the other for reference and or parts. I picked them up a lot cheaper than the 69-75 units.
