Default Another thanks to DB

I had the fortune of meeting Matt (Durango_Boy) and his fiance' a couple weeks ago on my way to our family vacation. He has answered countless misdirected questions in emails and PM's and has acted as a most valuable consultant and friend as I tried to catch up to 20 years of development in car stereo technology and the peculiarities of the C3 interior/body structure.

Matt is as congenial, patient, and friendly in person as he is helpful on this forum. Thanks again Matt, we had a great time. We will do this again sometime!

I'm about 60-70% done with my install, and I'll share pictures soon. I have to get the car over to a friend's house for a little bit of plasma cutter trimming on the birdcage to accept the front speakers in the next couple of days and if Willcox finally answers its emails I'll have some "dark brown" carpet to cover the woofer box and amp mounting panel. Thanks a ton, Durango_Boy!

Matt is alright and he does spend a lot of time here helping others.
(now between you and I did he spring for dinner because if he did my girlfriend and I are going to visit? shhhhh)
I'd like to try a plasma cutter.Years ago they were really expensive and couldnt justify buying one and now that I'm semi-retired I still cant justify buying one.So out comes the hacksaw or tinsnips

I agree - his knowledge is invaluable and he definitely gave up a lot of time helping me (as I am sure he did for others). I hope I get the opportunity to meet him in person someday as well. Matt - If you ever come east and are in PA and want to visit - I'll have a spot in the garage for your Vette and the spare room is yours if you need it!

Doug, I can't thank you enough for the kind words and tribute. Just so we're clear, we WILL do it again some time, and I was just as fortunate if not more...getting to meet you and your family.

I was very happy to be able to help you and guide you through some of the unclear aspects of your projects and was just glad to be of assistance.

It's a shame that through these forums we cannot see people for who they are in real life. We can get a good idea but meeting you and your family showed me just how great of a guy you are and I look forward to meeting up with you in the future no matter the circumstances.

Again, guys, thanks so much. If anyone needs any help with anything...you all know how to reach me.

We are fortunate to have Matt to help us with our vette questions. I have never met him, however i feel like he is a genuine guy that really enjoys helping members who are serious about their vettes.

What?
Why did the mods do this?

Did they want pics without the bikini's or something?

DB has been very helpful to me in looking at some stereo issues. For that I thank him.

BTW, the smallish car washer in Volume 5 is a very pretty lady. Reminds me of my first love who sat on back of my Honda 305cc Super Hawk back in the 1960s.

My brother had a 305 Honda Dream, and a 305 Honda Scrambler in the 60s. I didn't know they made a Honda Super Hawk. She is a "babe"

Wow, I'd take my tops off for them too. They're welcome to polish my shifter any time they want. I'd give 'em three thumbs up!

I'm not sure but I think they received a few complaints from some members here. I don't mind complying at all. The only reason I was posting them was because I thought most everyone would enjoy them. If a few guys didn't well then I don't mind NOT posting them.

While the pictures in these threads were not overly sexual or seductive in nature, opening them in the workplace could cause a problem for the member.

Here is the forums rule which addresses "babe," type pic's:

Inappropriate images
---------------------------------------------------------------------
For a long time, Corvetteforum.com had a “Babes” section. Our experience showed us that trying to enforce rules in the section was more difficult that it needed to be. A lot of the content posted was copyrighted pictures from other Internet sites. A lot of it was not “work-safe.”

For those reasons alone, we discontinued the section and do not allow Babes pictures to be posted on the Forum.

Allowing the posting of Babes pictures on the Forum or even links to sites that include Babes pictures or film clips makes us vulnerable to being blocked by corporate servers as a “not work safe” environment. That means many of us who like to check in on the Forum during breaks at work would no longer be able to do so.

No nudity, semi-nudity, suggestive, seductive or sexual images, film clips or emoticons. No images, clips or emoticons that would be shocking or offensive because of the content. Moderators will err on the side of caution in eliminating questionable images.

If you want that kind of content, there are lots of places on the Internet to find it, but Corvetteforum.com will not be one of them.

Thanks for your cooperation.
So, while the Moderator decided to let one remain open, four subsequent threads was pushing it.

In the future, please PM a section Moderator to inquire about the action they take rather than to post in an open thread, per this rule:

Complaints & Suggestions
---------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have suggestions for the improvement of the Forum or questions or criticism of the Forum or its moderation, you are welcome to PM or e-mail a moderator. Please do not use an open thread for such messages, however.

The work on the Forum's volunteer moderators is difficult enough without having folks calling them out in open threads.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Sarah enjoys meeting all my Corvette buddies a lot too except that she always feels left out when we talk cars and she can't keep up.

Larry, I'll remember that next time I see you.
