Easy now...Batmobiles are sacred relics and not to be associated with such an atrocity. More likely a Testarossa wannabee gone wrong? Also looks a lot like the Bradley GT kit car from the 70's...I'm guessing they had leftover parts after the donor VW cashed it in. Makes Corvette Summer look amazing!
If the price was at all reasonable, it would matter.
I'd much rather have a '72 with a matching numbers engine and a goofy Can Am rear clip I could easily knock off, throw away and replace, as opposed to a stock rear clip and a wrong motor.
I agree with your statement absolutely, if the price was reasonable, but I said "if it matters NOW" in my post. Is the price reasonable enough right now to restore it back to original? If a correct car is what you are looking for, I'm guessing the expense of restoring it back will probably cost far more than it's worth at the present time. Unless you already had all the necessary parts and the skills to do it yourself, that is, and maybe not even then from the standpoint of pure economics. There are still plenty of very nice early year C-3s around to be had very reasonably.
I guess you could buy it and wait ten or fifteen years or more till the value increased enough to warrant that much body work if it ever does.
Anyway, somewhere out there is someone that will like it just as it is (maybe). All they need is 20 grand or so to live their dream.
To enhance the looks the Daytona Rear Fender Panels, Front Fender Louvers, Twin Turbo Style Hood were added in 1990 to really set it apart from the pack!
What about the cheap ****, pseudo braided rad hose
Looks to be pretty clean though. Wonder what all the Knight Rider switches are on the console?
Flux capacitor, missles, machine guns, oil slick. I think the mess in the ashtray is for an advanced communication system. At least they went all-out and put the $39 Summit chrome package on the engine.
The boys at Earl Scheib's must have had a laugh when they painted that one.
There is a buyer for everything, Take away those rear speakers! and put back the original fenders and it's okey.
The really sad thing here is that someone actually designed those and put them on the market. Like i said, a buyer for everything.
... c'mon guys, not every car can be saved and kept original. We see this here every day. It's a fact of life. This one could be brought back easier than some of the rust buckets out there.
Look at the bright side - nice examples are now a little bit more rare.
