Default Left rear brake drags

It seems like this just started. My left rear brake started to
drag and gets hot on my 1978. No hot spots on the rotor pads we new
about 1500 miles ago. And rear wheel bearings seem tight. Suggestions ??

If just the hub is hot, it's probably the bearings. If the surface of the rotor and the caliper is hot, it's probably a collapsed rubber brake line, or a seized caliper (less likely).

Don't drive the car until it's fixed in any case.

It could be a problem with your parking brake, too. I inspected mine recently, and noticed that the pads were cracked all the way across the face where they're riveted onto the shoes. If a chunk had come loose, it might have wedged between the drum and shoe.

Also check the brake hose back there. There should be one from the end of the caliper hard line to the line that heads to the front of the car. If the inner hose is old and collapses, it could be holding pressure and not allowing the brake to release.
