Default Flintstone Floor!!!!

Not really, but the floorpans in my '81 really need to be replaced. A previous owner didn't fix the t-top leak, and left the wet carpet in it. The driver's side has mostly small pinholes in the front area, and stress cracks around one of the seat mounting holes. The passenger side has even more pinholes, with the low spot where the seat bolts up resuted out badly. The whole floor was pretty crusty, with lots of flaky rust, and even after rust treatment I am still not happy with it (I had originally planned to patch the hole and the stress cracked area...that was before I found all the pinholes, and saw how bad the floor looks, even after cleaning it up). Now, I'm thinking I should just replace both sides. Any suggestions for a good deal on the floorpans? Either the catalogs I looked at were really pricey, or its the Vette tax at work...I don't remember floorpans being this expensive on any other cars I have rebuilt.

Most places are $259 each. Might save 10% one place or another. Sounds like you've done pans before so I won't more you with the how-to details, but it's not that bad of a job.

If you (or anyone wants to see pics of it - and I ain't saying my way is the best way but it got the job done) - you can check it out at my website and then click on "The Body - Modifications".

Thanks, thats helpful. Actually looks a bit easier than most I have done, since riveting is faster than welding!
