Default Side pipe muffler Help please...

Ok, first here's my car.

Hooker headers and side pipes.
I'm looking for new muffler inserts because the ones that are in them are way too quiet.

I've read a few threads on side pipe mufflers and I don't think any of them give straight forward answers.
I'm looking for info on the max flo's. Are they really too loud? I'm looking for some rumble, but I'm not looking to go deaf on a long ride.
Should I start a thread under the "C3 General" section or the "C3 Tech/Performance" section. I'd like to purchase these as soon as possible.

I found these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hooke...mZ150295501367

Is there a dealer any of you would suggest that would come close to that price?

Thanks

Just curious, why are you only looking for info on the maxflows? I bought STS baffles. They sound good out of the box and you can increase flow and sound level by drilling different size holes in the center cap. If you get too loud, you can replace cap and start over.

Also, many CF forum guys are running the Sweet Thunders. They have a very nice sound too!

I've heard mixed reviews on the sts.
How loud are they?
What kind of price?

Very nice!!
I'm not running any extra HP as of yet.
I just got the car and the pipes are out getting coated.
I'd like to install something when I get the pipes back.
Where would you suggest I buy from?

I run the spiral type inserts and they are loud but I don't like the tinny sound they give out. I am thinking that I will get something with a different sound later.

I like the tinny sound!!! It makes my 200HP L48 sound like its got a solid lifter cam in it. Can't wait until I can get a strong 383 in there. I'm definitely going to drill a hole the baffle then.

Jim at STS is great to work with - great customer service and quality product. $225 shipped!

Are you running those?
Are you running a stock motor?
What size inserts do you have?

Can anybody compare the sound of the Sweet Thunders to the STS's? I've heard clips of STS's to Hookers, but not Sweet Thunders...Which are loudest out of the box?

Thanks.

These are 2 1/2" SweetThunder inserts, keep in mind though that as another member said in the other "insert" post each motor is going to sound different.

Mine is a FastBurn 385 with the HotCam and 1:6 roller rockers for example. I'm a bit further away with the camera too. Sounds a bit weak compared to 69ttops502's monster!!

Thanks, BTW, what color is your car? I'm trying to decide on a red, as well as which inserts to buy. Car looks and sounds great.

Thanks again...

That is PPG's version of the 68 RalleyRed.

It can look a bit orange in direct sunlight and downright pinkish in some photos but I like it and it is 10 years old.

My bad, you are correct, they are $335 shipped. That's what I get for going by memory. Thanks for catching that!

Well over in the Tech section I was just informed the Max Flos are louder so I'm down to the Spirals or the Thunders.
Any suggestions here?
