I am undertaking a restoration and trying to stick to the original spec as much as possible (apart from the X-Ram manifold and stage 1 cam) but I am having trouble with the interior carpet colour. The door trim seems old enough to be original and the carpet looks dark blue behind the armrest but the 'dark blue' carpet I bought from Ecklers is more of a green-blue and much lighter. Ecklers insist it is dark blue and the right colour for an 82 but I don't see how this can be the case. The main carpets were cheap replacements fitted by the previous owner but at least they matched the doors.
Can anyone direct me to a picture of an original 82 dark blue interior and/or confirm the colour based on a Silver blue/blue two tone car? (I believe mine is the only one in Western Australia).
I replied to your PM - that carpet color is waaay off! Your doors are correct and a good example of the carpet color. I'll try to post some pictures of my doors/carpets tomorrow for you...bottom line; Ecklers is wrong.
They did me the same way. I also have the 2-tone blue W/ dark blue carpet. It seems the manufacturer(ACC I think) makes 2 different dark blues. One is a 79, I think which is the one they sent me the other is for a 82. I finally just told Ecklers that they didn't know what they where selling and sent the whole thing back.
The one you have is not right. It's to light.Hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback Fred. Ecklers are suggesting I send the carpets back for a refund but it will cost more (being in Australia) than the money I get back so this isn't my first option!
I understand and it's a shame that we have to suffer for these so called experts mistakes.
If you install it show us some photos it might not look that bad.
