Found this over the weekend

Pulled up my carpet to improve 30 year old floor insulation and found:

Then I ground out the rust and undercoated...

Then applied new "hush mat" new foil type noise dampening agent and heat shield.

I plan on applying it under carpet behind seats also to quiet my flowmaster mufflers and rear end/suspension noise and heat also. I Got them from Ecklers and were $179 for 20 1" x 2" squares (self stick and no prep needed even though I insisted on prep)

Hey Daddybugs ... is that Hush Mat you got from Eckler's really 1" X 2"? Hope that was a 'typo'!

Great work. I have to do this myself, but I think I am going to find more than just surface rust. I am looking for floor pans just in case....

Yes, it comes in a 1' x 2' box and pieces are 1 (foot) by 2 (feet) in length. Man, THAT would have been alot of work- thanks for finding the typo...that might have turned off alot of folks looking into that project and man, what expensive squares they would be...LOL
