Default Valve Stems

I have aftermarket rims (not nice ones) on my 76 Vette. The interior is a honeycomb type. The problem is with the valve stems. They are tucked into the honeycomb so much, I am afraid that if I pull em out a little to put in air in the tire, they will snap off.

Anyone know if they make an "add on" L shaped valve stem?

I will eventually replace the rims when I have the $$$.

Do you have metal or rubber stems?

There should be plenty of flex in them,if they are not the stubby style maybe have those installed in the meanwhile.

From being in the auto parts business now 31 years I know valve stems. You probably have the smaller TR-413 valve in your rim. The next size up is a TR-418 valve that will fit your wheel if you need one sticking out about a half inch more. I would replace the valve rather then add a extension as some of them leak over time plus they won't look right on your wheel if you were to ask me.
