I have a new hood surround, and the body shop replaced the headlight assemblies as part of a major repair. By my wishes they didnt align or adjust them, as I wanted to do it. The drivers side fits fine, but the inboard forward corner of the passenger side headlight door sits below the surrounding surface (its low). Can this be shimmed at the mounting points or are there other adjustments that are integral to the headlight assemblies?
I would suggest SLIGHTLY loosening ALL the mounting bolts for the pivot bushings and the actuator bracket. This way you can nudge the assembly until you're happy with the fit. You want the bolts snug enough so it stays in position while you tighten everything down. Then adjust the headlight rear link adjusting screw up or down to align flush with the front surface of the surround. Hope this helps.
