Did a search, but couldn’t find the information I needed. I am trying to remove the body on my ‘73 and I am trying to remove the front chassis extension. It has four bolts on each side. Three of the bolts are no problem, the fourth on the other hand is killing me. The head of the bolt is sandwiched between the chassis extension and the frame. I have tried to squeeze a wrench in there but it is impossible, is there a way to remove it without cutting up the frame? I love this car, but I feel it has fought me tooth and nail trying to bring it back (and I am just starting!)
How about posting some pics of your problem. Makes it easier to diagnose. I recently pulled the body on my '73 and left the extension/ vacuum tank attached to the frame. The front impact bar and brackets were of coarse removed, along with the nose and lower valance.
If I can pull the body without having to remove the frame extension and vac tank, I will do that. I was under the impression that those had to be removed before I lifted the body. Thanks alot guys!
